On the second Monday of Sawan, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited Gorakhnath Temple in Gorakhpur and performed Rudrabhishek of Lord Shiva. He then performed a havan and offered prayers according to religious rituals, praying for the happiness, peace, prosperity and well-being of the people of the state.
Yogi Adityanath has a longstanding association with Gorakhnath Temple and regularly participates in its religious traditions during Sawan. During the Rudrabhishek, temple priests and acharyas conducted the worship with Vedic chants, offering water, milk and other ritual materials to Lord Shiva.
After the Rudrabhishek, the Chief Minister participated in the havan and offered oblations amid the chanting of mantras. He prayed for peace, prosperity and the well-being of the people of the state.
A special puja was organised at Gorakhnath Temple on the second Monday of Sawan. Devotees began arriving at the temple from the morning to offer prayers and seek darshan of Lord Shiva and Guru Gorakhnath. Devotees also participated in religious rituals and received prasad.
Arrangements were made for the convenience and security of devotees at the temple. Police and administrative officials were deployed in and around the temple, while arrangements were made keeping in view the movement of devotees and the increased number of visitors during Sawan.
After the religious rituals, Yogi Adityanath met children in the temple premises, spoke to them and distributed toys. He asked the children about their well-being, while temple employees and security personnel were also present during the interaction.
The Chief Minister also visited the temple's gaushala after the Rudrabhishek and havan. During Sawan, religious activities at the temple increase, and arrangements are made for devotees visiting from Gorakhpur, nearby districts and other areas.
Gorakhnath Temple is among the prominent seats of the Nath sect, and Yogi Adityanath is its Peethadhishwar. His participation in Rudrabhishek and havan on the second Monday of Sawan was part of the temple's religious traditions.
During the programme, devotees raised slogans in praise of Lord Shiva and participated in prayers and other religious activities. Yogi Adityanath prayed for peace, prosperity, development and the welfare of the people of Uttar Pradesh.
