Akhilesh Yadav was born on July 1, 1973, in Saifai village of Etawah district, Uttar Pradesh. His father, Mulayam Singh Yadav, is a prominent leader and a three-time Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. His mother's name was Malti Devi, who passed away in 2003.
Education
Akhilesh Yadav received his education from the Rajasthan Military School, Dholpur. He earned his B.E. degree from the S.J. College of Engineering, Mysore (Karnataka). He then pursued postgraduate studies in Environmental Engineering at the University of Sydney, Australia.

Akhilesh Yadav's wife is Dimple Yadav. Born in 1978 in Pune, Maharashtra, Dimple Yadav holds a degree from Lucknow University. They met in Lucknow and married on November 24, 1999.
Political Career
Akhilesh Yadav became a Member of Parliament for the first time in the 2000 by-election to the 13th Lok Sabha at the age of 27. In 2009, he contested and won the Lok Sabha by-elections from both Firozabad and Kannauj. Later, he resigned from the Firozabad seat, continuing to represent Kannauj in the Lok Sabha.
