The monsoon rains in Bihar are slowing down, but the weather remains unpredictable. Looking at the past 24 hours, light to moderate rainfall was recorded in the districts of Banka, Bhagalpur, Muzaffarpur, Araria, Begusarai, Gaya, and West Champaran between Wednesday at 2:30 AM and 6:00 AM. These areas were already under orange alert. Due to the late-night rainfall, a slight drop in temperature was also recorded, providing some relief to the people from the oppressive heat.
According to the weather department, the state may experience intermittent rainfall for the next few days. However, there are currently no major warnings of heavy rainfall. The department is continuously monitoring the situation and will issue further warnings if necessary.
Districts Experiencing Light Rain Forecast

Residents have been advised to stay vigilant and follow weather-related guidelines.
The weather department has appealed to the people of these districts to remain vigilant. They have advised to avoid venturing out in bad weather, not to take shelter under trees or weak structures, and to maintain a distance from electrical appliances.
The weather department believes that the weather situation may remain similar for the next 24 to 48 hours. Cloudy Skies Expected in Patna
The weather in Bihar, including the capital Patna, has changed. On Wednesday, the sky was seen with intermittent sunshine and cloud movement throughout the day. According to the IMD, the state may experience similar mixed weather for the next 24 hours, with the possibility of light rain at intervals.
On Wednesday, the maximum temperature in Patna was recorded at 34.4 degrees Celsius. The weather department estimates that the temperature may fluctuate by 1 to 2 degrees in the coming days. While there is no immediate relief from the intense heat, the cloudy skies and occasional light drizzle may provide some comfort.
Similar weather conditions are expected in other districts of the state. The department has advised people to stay vigilant and carry an umbrella or raincoat when going out, as the weather can change at any time.
Rainfall Amounts Recorded on Wednesday
- Gaya recorded the highest rainfall of 108.4 mm.
- Buxar also experienced heavy rainfall, with 78.2 mm of rain recorded.
- Darbhanga recorded 45 mm, Jami 38 mm, and Navada 37.4 mm.
- Rohtas recorded 34.4 mm, Nalanda 29.4 mm, Bhubaneswar 28.4 mm, and Banka 28 mm rainfall.
- Begusarai recorded 22 mm, Vaishali 19.4 mm, Samastipur 18.02 mm, and East Champaran 18 mm rainfall.
- Patna (Khusrupur) recorded 42.4 mm and Patna (Baid) area 16 mm rainfall. Besides, light to moderate rainfall was recorded in West Champaran, Siwan, Saran, Bhojpur, Jehanabad, Lakhisarai, Purnia, and Muzaffarpur districts. As a result, the local temperature dropped slightly, providing some relief to the people from the heat.
Minor Increase in Temperature
The monsoon has made its presence felt in Bihar, but despite the rainfall, there has been no significant drop in temperature. According to the weather department, the maximum temperature on Wednesday was 37.2 degrees Celsius in Gopalganj, while the minimum maximum temperature recorded was 31.5 degrees Celsius in Banka.
Currently, the average temperature in the state is around 33 to 34 degrees Celsius. The light and moderate rainfall has provided some relief, but the oppressive heat has not been completely eradicated. There is a slight chill in the weather, but the effect of the sticky and uncomfortable heat is still being felt.
