BJP Leader Attacks Congress, Highlights Emergency in Rajsamand

Following the Lok Sabha elections, visits by BJP's central leaders to the ground are continuing. In this series, Union Minister of State S.P. Singh Baghel arrived in Rajsamand on Monday, where he launched a sharp attack on the Congress, calling the Emergency imposed in 1975 the darkest chapter in India's democratic history. Baghel said that the Congress government led by Indira Gandhi had crushed both democracy and the constitution.

After visiting Nathdwara, Baghel interacted with BJP workers in Rajsamand while en route to Chittorgarh. During this time, he was traditionally welcomed in the Mewari style at the private office of former district president, Man Singh Barhath. The presence of a large number of party workers made the event special. Baghel said that today, the same Congress party is talking about democracy, which once imposed the Emergency across the country to suppress the voice of the people.

The nights of 1975 still frighten democracy

In conversations with workers and the media, Baghel recalled the events of the 1975 Emergency, saying that the Congress had snatched the freedom of expression from the country to save power. Opposition leaders were imprisoned, newspapers were shut down, and ordinary citizens were forced to live in fear. He said that this was akin to strangling democracy, and the people of the country responded by ousting the Congress from power in 1977.

Baghel described the BJP's ideology as nationalist, saying that this party does not just engage in power politics, but works with the feeling of nation first. He told the workers that it is still necessary to convey the truth of the Emergency to the public so that future generations understand the importance of democracy.

Heavy presence of BJP leaders and workers

Several senior leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party and a large number of workers were present on this occasion, including Chittorgarh District President Ratna Gayari, former District President Man Singh Barhath, senior leader Mahesh Paliwal, OBC Morcha District President Jawahar Jat, District Media Convener Narmada Shankar Paliwal, Panchayat Samiti Deputy Head Suresh Kumawat, and Leader of the Opposition in the City Council Himmat Kumawat. In addition, the presence of Pradeep Khatri, Bherulal Nandwana, Vinod Joshi, Vikas Paliwal, Satyadev Singh, Bhavani Joshi, Pramod Sen, Shantilal Paliwal, and Deshbandhu Ranka, among many other workers, made the event organizationally even ber.

At this grand event, Baghel was honored by being presented with a traditional Mewari turban and an Angvastra, which not only maintained the cultural dignity of the program but also infused new energy into the workers.

The people gave the mandate

At the conclusion of the program, Baghel said that in the 2024 general elections, the people of the country have given a b mandate to the BJP under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Now it is the responsibility of the workers to go from village to village and convey the central government's schemes, development works, and achievements to the general public. He said that establishing dialogue with the people and moving forward towards solutions by understanding their problems is the real service.

Baghel's speech and message not only boosted the morale of the workers but also made it clear that the BJP has already started preparing for 2028 by strengthening its organizational strength and ground-level contact in Rajasthan.
