CUET DU Admission: The Common University Entrance Test (CUET 2025) results were declared on July 4th by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Consequently, the admission process at several prominent universities across the country is now progressing rapidly. Delhi University (DU) has also shared essential updates regarding the admission schedule following the CUET results. The university has clarified to students the steps involved and the deadlines for application.
New Academic Session to Begin on August 1st
Delhi University has announced that the new academic session is scheduled to commence on August 1, 2025. Keeping this in mind, the admission process is planned to be completed within the stipulated timeframe this year. DU had already initiated Phase 1 of admissions, which is now in its final stages. Phase 2 of admissions will begin shortly thereafter.
Phase 1: Basic Details and CUET Score Upload
The admission process at DU is conducted in a phased manner. In the first phase, students need to upload their personal information, marks obtained in board exams, and details related to their CUET 2025 scores on the portal. This step is crucial for the university to verify the primary information of the students.
Phase 2: Course and College Preferences
Following Phase 1, Phase 2 will begin next week. In this phase, students must indicate their course and college preferences. This means students will decide which subject and which college they wish to enroll in. These choices are based on the CUET scores and the student's priorities.
Due to the early start of the session this year, Phase 2 has been shortened. It is likely to last for approximately a week. Therefore, students are advised to complete Phase 1 as soon as possible to participate in Phase 2 without any interruptions.
University Warning: Avoid Mistakes
The DU administration has appealed to students to be extremely careful while filling out the admission forms. Any errors can cause problems in the future. Students are advised to carefully read all the guidelines before filling out the application and not to provide any incorrect information.
Keep an Eye on the Official Website
Students are also advised to regularly visit the official website of Delhi University (admission.uod.ac.in). All updates and schedule-related information regarding admissions will be shared on this portal. This step is essential to avoid missing any important information.
How Many Seats Available?
According to the DU administration, approximately 1,300 seats are being offered for admission this year. Millions of students are applying for these seats, making the competition tough. Students are advised to carefully consider their preferences and participate in all phases on time.
How Were the CUET 2025 Results?
This year, approximately 13.5 lakh students registered for the CUET exam, out of which 10.7 lakh candidates appeared for the exam.
According to NTA data, 1,847 students achieved a 100 percentile score. Some of these candidates topped in more than one subject. One student even obtained a 100 percentile in 4 out of 5 subjects.
When Will the Cut-offs and Merit Lists Be Released?
Based on the CUET scores, DU and other central universities will release their cut-off lists and merit lists. The college-wise cut-off lists will be published after the completion of Phase 2. After this, students will have to undergo document verification and pay fees according to the allotted college. If students do not meet the cut-off, they will have to wait for the next merit list.
