The grand celebration of the historic Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath commenced on Friday in Puri, Odisha. Millions of devotees from across the country and abroad have arrived in Puri for this occasion. This year, prominent Indian industrialist Gautam Adani also participated in the yatra with his family. He visited Puri with his wife, Priti Adani, and son, Karan Adani, to seek the blessings of Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra, and Subhadra.
Gautam Adani will be participating in religious events in Puri for two days, becoming a part of this grand confluence of faith. The Adani family's visit not only demonstrated their devotion but also showcased their spirit of service.
Adani Group's Prasad Seva Initiative
This year, the Adani Group initiated the 'Prasad Seva' to facilitate the devotees during the Rath Yatra. This service will run from June 26th to July 8th, distributing food and Prasad to the devotees participating in the Rath Yatra.
The local administration and the Shree Jagannath Temple Committee have appreciated the Adani Group's initiative. It is being seen as a positive example of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), where an industrial group has prioritized public service in a faith-related event.
Offering Prayers and Preparing Prasad at the Temple
Gautam Adani and his wife, Priti Adani, visited the temple on the day of the Rath Yatra and performed prayers. The Adani couple sought the blessings of Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra, and Subhadra and also prepared Prasad in the temple premises using traditional methods.
The atmosphere in the temple echoed with the chants of 'Jai Jagannath' during this time. A large number of devotees were moved by the Adani family's devotion and service. The temple administration praised the Adani Group's participation, stating that it was a wonderful confluence of faith and service.
The Grand Rath Yatra
This historic Rath Yatra in Puri begins every year with the pulling of the chariots of Lord Jagannath, his brother Balabhadra, and sister Subhadra. Devotees pull these chariots to the Gundicha Temple, where the deities rest for seven days. After this, the three deities return to their original temple.
This year too, millions of devotees participated in the Rath Yatra, and the entire city of Puri resonated with the chants of 'Jai Jagannath'. The event emerged as a vibrant symbol of Indian culture, devotion, and tradition.
Stringent Security Arrangements
Considering the massive crowd of devotees, the Puri administration has made stringent security arrangements. Approximately 10,000 security personnel, including eight companies of CAPF, Odisha Police, Home Guards, and special force personnel, have been deployed at various locations.
The entire Rath route is being monitored with the help of drones and CCTV cameras. The administration has stated that the safety of the devotees is their top priority, and they are fully prepared to deal with any kind of emergency.
