At a public event in Maharashtra, Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the Jayraj Sports and Convention Center. On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde concluded his speech with the slogan "Jai Hind, Jai Maharashtra, Jai Gujarat." This statement has sparked a new controversy in the state's politics.
Sharp Reaction from Shiv Sena (UBT)
Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Kishori Pednekar criticized Eknath Shinde over the slogan. She said, "If you follow the thoughts of Balasaheb Thackeray, did he ever say 'Jai Gujarat'?" She also questioned whether learning Gujarati had now become mandatory in Maharashtra.
In his speech, Eknath Shinde praised the Gujarati community, saying they are the sons of Lakshmi (Goddess of Wealth) and that the day was historic for them. He also lauded the working style of Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.

Shinde said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah are the same for us. He also stated that Amit Shah is a skilled strategist and that the country has gained a new direction from his plans.
Deputy Chief Minister Shinde said that he, Chief Minister Fadnavis, and Deputy CM Ajit Pawar are working together like a team and are taking Maharashtra towards progress.
