In the current Bollywood landscape, if any film perfectly exemplifies "slow and steady wins the race," it's Vicky Kaushal's historical period drama, Chhaava. While most films leave theaters within 30-40 days, Chhaava maintains a b hold on the box office even on its 69th day.

Chhaava Box Office Collection: Few can understand the sweetness of patience better than Vicky Kaushal. He once proved his acting prowess through small but impactful roles in cult films like Masaan, but achieving widespread recognition in commercial cinema took considerable time. His hard work and perseverance finally paid off when his historical film Chhaava, released in February this year, not only created a sensation at the box office but also made Vicky the highest-grossing actor of the year.

The success of Chhaava is evident not only in its earnings but also in its longevity. Typically, a film running for 40 days in theaters is considered a hit, but Chhaava redefined this benchmark. For 69 days, it remained firmly entrenched in cinemas, maintaining its hold on the audience. It even surpassed the mega-hit record of Pushpa 2.

Slow Pace, but Strong Grip

The success of Chhaava proves that a film doesn't need to instantly join the 100 crore club to become a blockbuster. Vicky Kaushal's film, due to its b content, historical backdrop, and emotional depth, has secured a place in the hearts of the audience that is not easily replaceable. Even after a long journey of 69 days, the film continues to earn millions daily.

69 Days Box Office Report Card

Even after completing 69 days in theaters, Chhaava collected approximately ₹6 lakh net on Wednesday. In the Hindi belt, the film has already grossed a net business of ₹601-602 crore. The film was released in a dubbed version in the South market, where it collected ₹15.87 crore within 15 days.

Worldwide, Chhaava has grossed approximately ₹807.78 crore, making it the highest-growth film of the year.

How it Surpassed Pushpa 2?

Allu Arjun's pan-India film Pushpa 2 ran for only 56 days in theaters. In comparison, Chhaava is still in theaters and earning on its 69th day. This means Chhaava surpassed Pushpa 2 in terms of theatrical run duration. This achievement is even more special because Chhaava managed to draw audiences to theaters for so long without a pan-India market.

Giving Competition to 'Jaat' and 'Kesari 2'

While Sunny Deol's Jaat and Akshay Kumar's Kesari Chapter 2 are vying to quickly enter the 100 crore club, Chhaava is poised to overtake them with its slow but steady pace. Compared to these big-star films, Chhaava lacked glamorous promotion or a hefty marketing budget, yet it has established its own success.

A Turning Point in Vicky Kaushal's Career

Although Vicky Kaushal, who started his career with Masaan, was already appreciated for his acting, Chhaava established him as a commercial hero. After films like Uri and Sardar Udham, this is the first film that has made him a superstar among the public. The special thing about Chhaava is that it's not just a historical story but a journey of emotions and sacrifice embraced by audiences from all walks of life. From single screens to multiplexes, the film is receiving positive responses everywhere.
