BJP Suffers Setback in Jharkhand as Former MP Shailendra Mahato and Wife Rejoin JMM

During the meeting, Shailendra Mahato and Abha Mahato discussed several important issues with Chief Minister Hemant Soren. Shailendra Mahato also offered guidance to the Chief Minister. Currently affiliated with the BJP, both leaders maintain significant influence within the Kurmi community, leading to the interpretation of this meeting as a sign of their impending return to the JMM.

Speaking about the meeting, Shailendra Mahato stated that, as senior leaders, they had visited the state's young Chief Minister to offer guidance. He also affirmed his continued support for Chief Minister Hemant Soren.
Meeting Stemming from BJP Discontent
Abha Mahato had attempted to contest the Baharagora assembly seat on a BJP ticket in the previous assembly elections but was denied a ticket, leading to her disillusionment with the party. According to an associate of Shailendra Mahato, the meeting has significantly increased the likelihood of both leaders rejoining the JMM. If this happens, it could be a major blow to the BJP.
Return of BJP Leaders to JMM
Recently, several leaders have returned to the JMM from the BJP. This includes former MLAs Louis Marandi, Laxman Tudu, Kunal Sharangi, and others, who have been welcomed into the party. This suggests a potential strengthening of the JMM's political base.
