Delhi Launches Major Air Pollution Reduction Campaign

The Delhi government has launched a major campaign to reduce air pollution. Led by CM Rekha Gupta, plans are underway to make the Ring Road dust-free, plant trees on dividers, and improve traffic flow.

Delhi: The Delhi government has initiated a comprehensive campaign to control air pollution and improve the environment in the capital. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, several concrete steps are being taken to provide Delhi residents with a cleaner and healthier environment.

Trees to be Planted on Dividers

The government has devised a comprehensive plan to make the entire Ring Road dust-free, plant trees along road dividers, and reduce traffic congestion. After reviewing various measures, all concerned departments have been instructed to ensure effective action with immediate effect. The government's priority is to make Delhi clean and green.

Strategy for Air Pollution Control

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta stated that making Delhi pollution-free is the top priority of the BJP government. The government is fully committed to improving air quality through scientific and sustainable measures.

- Green belts will be developed along roadsides.

- Dust will be controlled using modern technologies.

- Public transport will be strengthened.

Pollution-Absorbing Plants to be Planted

The Delhi government has instructed the MCD, PWD, DDA, and other related agencies to plant special pollution-absorbing plants along roadsides and on dividers. These plants will improve air quality and help reduce pollution.

The Chief Minister explained that the entire Ring Road will be made dust-free to control dust pollution in Delhi. For this:

- Regular mechanized road sweeping will be carried out.

- Sprinklers and treated water spraying will be used to prevent dust accumulation along roadsides.

- Strict enforcement of dust control management at construction sites will be implemented.

- Intensive inspections of PUC (Pollution Under Control Certificate) have been instructed.

Delhi to Get Relief from Traffic Congestion

To address the problem of traffic congestion in the capital, the government has identified 250 major roads. With the help of the traffic police, the causes of congestion will be studied and solutions will be found.

- Traffic management systems at major intersections will be strengthened.

- Work will be done on the route rationalization plan for DTC buses.

- A control room will be set up for real-time monitoring of public buses.

Plan to Make Public Transport More Efficient

The Chief Minister said that new plans will be implemented to make public transport more efficient.

- New routes will be developed for DTC and cluster buses.

- An advanced tracking system will be implemented to monitor buses.

- A better connectivity system will be developed by integrating metro and bus services.
