Delhi Election: The political atmosphere in Delhi is heating up. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is once again striving for a return to power. The BJP and Congress are also in the fray with their own strategies. Chief Minister Atishi engaged in an extensive interview with the media, discussing election preparations, strategies, and challenges.
A Challenging Election for AAP
The Aam Aadmi Party considers this election extremely challenging. Chief Minister Atishi stated, "Every election is challenging. The BJP has resources like the CBI, ED, Delhi Police, Income Tax Department, and the Election Commission. But we have the support of the people." She accused the BJP of spending massive amounts of money in elections, saying, "We don't have the money to run TV ads, but the people are with us."
Questions about BJP's CM Candidate
Targeting the BJP, Chief Minister Atishi said, "The BJP doesn't have a face for the Chief Minister's position. Even their senior leaders are hesitant to contest the elections." She also stated that the BJP's claim that Arvind Kejriwal cannot become Chief Minister is completely false, calling it a BJP rumour and emphasizing that anyone legally contesting the election can become Chief Minister.
Experiences as Chief Minister
Sharing her experiences, Chief Minister Atishi said, "There's a significant difference between decisions made by ministers or the Chief Minister and the needs of the people. If plans aren't made considering public opinion, their benefits won't truly reach the people."
BJP Distracted from Issues
Chief Minister Atishi stated that in this election, the BJP has ignored development issues and instead resorted to abusive language and accusations. She said, "We are going to the people with a list of our development works. The BJP has no concrete achievements, so they are only resorting to accusations."
Defining Good Governance
Emphasizing the definition of good governance, Atishi said, "Good governance means the government works for the people and with the people's opinion. Plans should be made according to the needs of the people."
Reaction to LG's Praise
Responding to the praise given by Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, Atishi jokingly said, "I hope this time the LG saheb will vote for the Aam Aadmi Party."
Public Sympathy for Imprisoned Party Leaders
Atishi said that despite the imprisonment of party leaders, the people of Delhi stand with them. "When Arvind Kejriwal was in jail, the elderly and women of Delhi observed fasts for him. The public knows that we have worked for Delhi."
Role if AAP Forms the Government
Regarding her future role, Atishi said, "The party will decide. Our priority is serving the public."
On the BJP's statement about a temporary Chief Minister, Atishi said, "In the BJP, no ordinary worker can become Chief Minister. This is only possible in the Aam Aadmi Party."
Response to BJP's Election Promises
Questioning the BJP's election promises, Atishi said, "The BJP has governments in 22 states, but nowhere have they provided free electricity or water. The public will not believe the BJP's promises."
AAP's Strategy
The Aam Aadmi Party has devised a strategy to present its development works to the public. Atishi said, "We do what we say. The people of Delhi do not trust the BJP's false promises."
Atishi mentioned that she comes from a middle-class family and that neither her father nor grandfather was a politician. She said, "The Aam Aadmi Party gave me an opportunity, which was not possible in the BJP or Congress."
Chief Minister Atishi stated that her priority is to work for the welfare of the people. She expressed confidence that the Aam Aadmi Party will return to power with the support of the people.
