Himachal Pradesh Budget: Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, in the Himachal Pradesh Budget 2025, announced a significant relief for milk-producing farmers by increasing the minimum purchase price by ₹6 per liter. Following this increase, the price of cow's milk will now be ₹51 per kilogram and buffalo milk ₹61 per kilogram. This will directly benefit the state's dairy producers and increase their income. Previously, cow's milk was priced at ₹45 per kilogram and buffalo milk at ₹55 per kilogram.
Increased Subsidy for Dairy Cooperatives
Furthermore, dairy cooperatives will now receive a three percent subsidy, up from the previous 1.5 percent. This step is aimed at encouraging milk production and distribution.
Budget Provision of ₹10.73 Crore
A budget provision of ₹10.73 crore has been made to encourage milk production and distribution. A subsidy of ₹2 per kilometer for milk transportation has also been announced.
Promoting Natural Farming
The state government has taken a significant step to promote natural farming. Under this scheme, one lakh new farmers will be integrated into natural farming practices. This initiative will increase the production of organic products and enhance farmers' income.
