Hockey India Awards: Hockey India celebrated its 7th annual awards ceremony in 2024, honoring India's best hockey players, officials, and legends. This year's event held special significance as Indian hockey completed its 100th year. The historic 1975 Hockey World Cup winning team was awarded the Hockey India Major Dhyan Chand Lifetime Achievement Award and a cash prize of INR 50 lakh.
Harmanpreet and Savita Named Players of the Year
Captain Harmanpreet Singh and veteran goalkeeper Savita Punia were named Men's and Women's Players of the Year, respectively, under the Hockey India Balbir Singh Senior Award. Savita Punia also received the Best Goalkeeper of the Year award.
Record INR 12 Crore Prize Money
Hockey India set a record this year with a total prize money of INR 12 crore, the highest ever in the history of the awards. Cash prizes were awarded to players and support staff across various categories.
Special Recognition for PR Sreejesh
India's legendary goalkeeper, PR Sreejesh, who recently retired from international hockey, was recognized as the FIH Men's Goalkeeper of the Year 2024. He received a cash prize of INR 5 lakh.

Hockey India honored Ripudaman Sharma as the Best Umpire/Umpire Manager of the year.
