JD Vance India Visit: U.S. Vice President JD Vance is currently on a four-day visit to India. On the second day of his tour, Tuesday, he and his family, including his wife Usha Vance and children, visited Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan. Upon arrival, the Vance family received a traditional welcome at Amber Fort. The welcome included decorated elephants at the fort's entrance, along with traditional folk dances such as Kachhi Ghodi, Ghoomar, and Kalbeliya.
Royal Experience at Rambagh Palace
JD Vance and his family stayed at the historic Rambagh Palace in Jaipur on Monday night. They experienced the royal Rajasthani culture firsthand. The following morning, they visited Amber Fort, where they were greeted with traditional folk dances and music. The entire family thoroughly enjoyed this cultural program.
Visit to Akshardham Temple
Earlier in Delhi, JD Vance visited the Akshardham Temple. He spent approximately 55 minutes at the temple complex. According to temple spokesperson Radhika Shukla, the Vance family greatly appreciated the temple's architecture and peaceful atmosphere. His son was seen in traditional kurta-pyjama and his daughter in an Anarkali suit.
Delhi Shopping Spree: Purchasing Indian Handicrafts
On the first day of his India visit, JD Vance visited the Central Cottage Industries Emporium in Delhi. He purchased pottery, handicrafts, and other traditional products. Meena Somani, the showroom's general manager, stated that the Vance family thoroughly enjoyed the Indian handicrafts.
Meeting with Prime Minister Modi
At the beginning of his visit, JD Vance met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Upon arrival at Palam Airport in Delhi, he was welcomed by Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.
He was then given a guard of honor. After meeting with the Prime Minister, Vance shared a post on X, stating that the meeting would further strengthen India-U.S. bilateral relations.
Visit Concludes with Taj Mahal in Agra
On Wednesday, JD Vance and his family visited Agra, where they viewed the world-famous Taj Mahal. This was the final leg of their India trip. JD Vance is scheduled to depart from Delhi for the USA at 6:40 AM on Thursday.
