Bihar Politics: With Bihar Assembly elections scheduled for later this year, all parties are gearing up for the electoral battle. In a significant move ahead of the elections, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav has appointed eight professors as national spokespersons. This step is considered part of the party's electoral strategy.

Eight New National Spokespersons Appointed

The Rashtriya Janata Dal has appointed eight professors as its national spokespersons. They are Dr. Shyam Kumar, Dr. Raj Kumar Ranjan, Dr. Dinesh Pal, Dr. Anuj Kumar Tarun, Dr. Rakesh Ranjan, Dr. Utpala Ballabh, Dr. Badshah Alam, and Dr. Ravi Shankar. The party announced these appointments via a Facebook post, stating that the appointments were made on the instructions of party chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Yadav.

Spokespersons' Academic Background

Most of these eight national spokespersons are highly educated professors. Five of them hold PhD degrees and are considered experts in their respective fields. These professors work in prominent universities in Delhi and Bihar.

  2. Dr. Raj Kumar Ranjan – Associate Professor, Department of Hindi, Shaheed Bhagat Singh College, Delhi University.
  3. Dr. Dinesh Pal – Associate Professor, Department of Hindi, Jaglal Choudhary College, Jay Prakash University, Chapra, Bihar.
  4. Dr. Anuj Kumar Tarun – Assistant Professor, PG Campus, Magadh University, Bodh Gaya, Bihar.
  5. Dr. Rakesh Ranjan – Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science, Government Degree College, Pakridayal, BRA Bihar University.
  6. Dr. Utpala Ballabh – Affiliated with the Geography Department, Patna University.
  7. Dr. Ravi Shankar – Associate Professor, Department of Psychology, B.R. Ambedkar College, Delhi University.

Key Facts

Four of these spokespersons are based in Delhi and four in Bihar. Furthermore, one of the RJD's eight spokespersons represents the Muslim community, a significant strategic move for the party.
