Minister Jitendra Ram Manjhi Addresses Industry Meet in Gaya, Defends Waqf Bill

Waqf Bill 2025: Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Jitendra Ram Manjhi, attended the Industry Institute Meet 2025 held at Gaya's Engineering College on Friday. Following the event, he addressed the media and clarified his stance on the amended Waqf Bill.

"The Bill Targets Corruption, Not Religion" – Manjhi

Minister Manjhi asserted that the Waqf Amendment Bill 2025 neither opposes any religion nor targets any specific community. He stated that the opposition is deliberately misrepresenting the bill, which is a significant step towards reforming a "faulty and opaque system".

Accusation of Appeasement Politics Against Opposition

Questioning the opposition's intentions, Manjhi said, "Be it Triple Talaq, Article 370, or now the Waqf Bill – the opposition opposes every crucial and historic decision." He argued that the benefits of Waqf properties had not reached the poor until now, a situation this bill rectifies.

JD(U) Spokesperson's Support: 'No Need to Fear the Bill'

Kumar Gaurav, alias Gaurav Sinha, the JD(U) district spokesperson, also issued a statement supporting the bill. He clarified that the central government took this decision with the consensus of all NDA constituent parties. He appealed to the public not to misinterpret the bill.

Direct Benefit to Backward Muslim Communities

Gaurav Sinha stated that until now, the benefits of Waqf properties were limited to a select group. With the implementation of this bill, backward and needy Muslims will also benefit. He also highlighted Nitish Kumar's b track record of working for minorities.

"No Confusion Regarding the Bill within JD(U)"

The spokesperson asserted that the JD(U) considers this bill to be in the best interests of the Muslim community and that there is no confusion or ambiguity within the party regarding it. He added that the party leadership takes every decision thoughtfully and after considering all aspects.
