Pushkar Singh Dhami: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced the regularization of timely pension distribution to senior citizens in Uttarakhand. He stated that this step is being taken during the review of the state's social welfare, women empowerment, and tribal welfare department schemes. As part of this initiative, a monthly message from the Chief Minister will be disseminated to the public on a scheduled date.
Special Focus on Senior Citizens in Mountainous Regions
Dhami also spoke of taking special measures for elderly individuals living alone in mountainous regions. He mentioned that Anganwadi centers will be engaged to assist in ensuring proper care for the elderly.
Emphasis on Chief Minister's Schemes
The Chief Minister emphasized the effective implementation of social welfare schemes, stating that the objective of officials should be to deliver better public service results. He stressed the need to assess departmental output.
Improving Underperforming Schemes
Chief Minister Dhami emphasized better implementation of moderately performing schemes such as the Pre-Secondary Scholarship Scheme and the Atal Awas Yojana. He spoke of taking special steps to make these schemes more effective.
Special Focus on Women's Nutrition
The Chief Minister took the issue of malnutrition and anemia among women in the state seriously and directed the department to formulate a concrete action plan to address it. He also emphasized better performance of women empowerment schemes.
Need to Accelerate Central Schemes
The Chief Minister also directed the acceleration of centrally sponsored schemes. He spoke of the effective implementation of schemes like the Nashamukt Uttarakhand Yojana (Drug-Free Uttarakhand Scheme) and the Shilpi Gram Yojana.
Population Growth and Drug-Free Uttarakhand
Dhami expressed concern over the rapidly growing population in the state and spoke of focusing on the maintenance and promotion of centers established under the Nashamukt Uttarakhand campaign. He promised to inspect the center established in Haldwani himself.
Simplifying the Certificate Issuance Process
The Chief Minister also directed the simplification of the certificate issuance process for beneficiaries of pension schemes. Furthermore, he spoke of working towards providing employment to more youth through ITIs run by the Social Welfare Department.
