Khamenei Rejects Trump's Nuclear Deal Offer, Citing Deception and Pressure
Last Updated: 8 hour ago

Despite a letter from US President Trump, Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei refused negotiations on the nuclear deal, calling it a deception and a means to increase economic pressure on Iran.

Iran-America: Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran's Supreme Leader, has rejected any negotiations with the United States regarding the nuclear deal. In response to a letter from President Donald Trump, Khamenei explicitly stated that such negotiations would only be a deception, leading to increased economic pressure on Iran.

Iran's Strong Rebuke to Trump's Letter

Donald Trump recently announced that he had sent a letter to Iran's Supreme Leader proposing a nuclear agreement. This letter was delivered on Wednesday by Anwar Gargash, an advisor to the UAE president, to Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi. However, Khamenei, during a conversation with university students, dismissed Trump's offer as "fraudulent" and rejected it outright.

"America is Untrustworthy"—Khamenei

According to Iranian state media, Khamenei stated, "What is the point of negotiating when we already know that America will not honor its promises?" He argued that engaging in talks with the Trump administration would only result in tighter sanctions and increased pressure on Iran.

Trump Reimposed Sanctions in 2018

It is noteworthy that in 2018, Donald Trump withdrew the US from the 2015 nuclear agreement and reimposed stringent sanctions on Iran. This severely impacted Iran's economy. Khamenei clarified that Iran will not negotiate under pressure and will not yield to American threats.

"The Door to Negotiation Remains Open for Iran"—Trump

However, Donald Trump has stated that the door to negotiations will always remain open for Tehran. During his first term, he attempted to tighten the global sanctions noose around Iran through a "pressure campaign." America's goal was to isolate Iran from the international market and curb its oil exports, thereby maintaining US and its allies' dominance in the Middle East.
