Dust Storm in Texas Claims Seven Lives

Missouri is the hardest-hit state, with 12 confirmed deaths. The storm severely damaged numerous homes in the Bakersfield area. According to Butler County officials, one person died when a house collapsed, but a woman was rescued. In Amarillo County, Texas, a dust storm caused multiple road accidents, resulting in seven fatalities. The sudden storm severely reduced visibility for drivers, leading to a series of collisions.

Significant Destruction in Arkansas and Oklahoma

Three people died and over 50 were injured in Independence County, Arkansas. Homes and businesses have been damaged across parts of the state. Power outages are widespread, and numerous trees have fallen. Over 130 fires have been reported in Oklahoma, prompting authorities to issue evacuation orders for some areas.

Weather Service Issues New Warnings

Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee has released $250,000 for disaster relief. Rescue operations are also being intensified in Missouri and Texas. The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued blizzard warnings for parts of western Minnesota and eastern South Dakota. Up to six inches of snow and winds gusting up to 60 miles per hour are anticipated in the next 24 hours.
