West Bengal is bracing for thunderstorms and rain, particularly in Jhargram, East and West Medinipur districts, with a high likelihood of lightning, hail, and heavy rainfall. The meteorological department has also issued a thunderstorm and rain alert for several districts in Telangana, predicting heavy rain accompanied by b winds until March 24th.

Light Rain in Delhi-NCR

Cloudy skies have prevailed in Delhi since morning, leading to a drop in temperature. The minimum temperature on Saturday was recorded at 16.7°C, slightly below average. Meteorologists predict light rain and b winds in parts of Delhi-NCR today, offering relief from the intense heat of the past few days.

Thunderstorms and Hail Threat in West Bengal

Moisture-laden winds from the Bay of Bengal are expected to worsen weather conditions in West Bengal. The IMD has issued a warning for b winds, hail, and lightning in East and West Medinipur, Jhargram, Bankura, Purulia, Howrah, and Hooghly districts. A 3-4°C drop in maximum temperatures is anticipated across the state over the next two days.

Orange Alert for Telangana

Several districts in Telangana are forecast to experience heavy rain, thunderstorms, and hail. The IMD has issued orange and yellow alerts, predicting rain accompanied by b winds (50-60 km/h) until March 24th. Cooler temperatures are expected across many parts of the state, providing relief from the heat.

The meteorological department has urged farmers and the general public to seek shelter during heavy rain and thunderstorms and to exercise caution to avoid incidents like lightning strikes. Farmers in West Bengal and Telangana are advised to take precautionary measures to protect their crops.
