Controversy Erupts in Maharashtra Over Comedian Kunal Kamra's Remarks

A controversy has erupted in Maharashtra following comedian Kunal Kamra's remarks. Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) workers vandalized property after Kamra's joke targeting Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, while the Uddhav Thackeray faction expressed support for Kamra. A police investigation is underway.

Maharashtra Politics: Maharashtra's political scene has heated up due to comedian Kunal Kamra's comments. A large number of Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) workers reached the Unicontinental Club in Mumbai and engaged in extensive vandalism. It is alleged that Kamra made objectionable remarks about Deputy CM Eknath Shinde during a live show at this club.

Complaint Filed After Remarks

Following the viral spread of a video of Kamra's remarks on social media, Shinde faction leader Rahul Kanal filed a complaint against him at the Khar police station. The complaint alleges that Kamra used insulting language against Eknath Shinde in his show. Conversely, an FIR has also been registered against Shiv Sena Yuva Sena (Shinde faction) General Secretary Rahul Kanal and 19 other workers for vandalism at the hotel.

Demand for Arrest of Shiv Sena Workers

Shiv Sena workers have demanded the arrest of comedian Kunal Kamra. However, the police have not yet clarified whether an official FIR has been registered against Kamra. Police have confirmed that Shiv Sena workers vandalized the Unicontinental Hotel in Khar, Mumbai. Reports suggest Kamra mocked Shinde in his show using a modified song, calling him a "traitor".

Kunal Kamra Shares Video

Kamra shared a video of his show on his social media platform X (formerly Twitter). In the video, he is seen making fun of Shinde using a modified version of a song from the film "Dil To Pagal Hai". His remarks alluded to the 2022 rebellion led by Eknath Shinde, which resulted in him breaking away from Uddhav Thackeray's faction of Shiv Sena and forming a government.

Strong Statement by Shinde Faction MP

Shiv Sena MP from Thane, Naresh Mhaske, alleged that Kunal Kamra is a "contract comedian" who received money from Uddhav Thackeray to target Eknath Shinde. Mhaske issued a veiled threat, stating, "Kamra should understand he's treading on the tail of a venomous snake. There will be serious consequences. We will ensure he cannot roam freely across the country."

Shinde Supporters Warn: Leave the Country

Naresh Mhaske further added, "We are Balasaheb Thackeray's Shiv Sainiks. If we retaliate, Kamra will have to leave the country. Our party is being weakened, so the opposition is using such people."

Sanjay Raut Defends Kamra

Shiv Sena (Uddhav faction) leader Sanjay Raut supported Kunal Kamra, stating, "Kunal Kamra is a renowned writer and stand-up comedian. He created a parody song on Maharashtra's political situation, which angered the Shinde faction, leading to vandalism at the studio. This is a threat to democracy."
