Last Updated: 6 hour ago

Due to the severe heat in Lucknow, school timings for classes 1-8 have been changed to 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM from April 25th, with a ban on outdoor activities.

UP News: Considering the continuous rise in temperature and the impact of the heat in Lucknow, District Magistrate Vishakha Ji has issued an order changing school timings. From April 25th, 2025, all government, council, private, and other board schools from class 1 to 8 will operate from 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM. This change has been implemented keeping in mind the safety and health of children due to the ongoing heatwave in Lucknow.

Restrictions on School Activities

Outdoor activities have also been completely banned due to the heat. Children will not be allowed to participate in any sports or other activities in open fields. This measure has been taken to protect children from heatstroke and sunstroke.

Appeal to Parents

The District Magistrate has appealed to parents to avoid sending their children outside during the afternoon and to advise them to wear light clothing, drink plenty of water, and take precautions against the heat.

According to the Meteorological Department, there is little expectation of relief from the heat in Lucknow for the next few days, making this measure crucial for the safety of children.
