Shiny Doshi: Behind the glamour and glitz of the television industry lies a reality often hidden from view. However, TV actress Shiny Doshi recently revealed the struggles she faced, a story that is not only touching but also exemplifies courage and determination. Shiny, who became a household name through popular shows like "Pandya Store" and "Saraswatichandra," recently disclosed the significant mental and emotional challenges she encountered in the early stages of her career.

The Beginning – "Saraswatichandra"

Shiny Doshi started her acting career with the acclaimed Bhansali production, "Saraswatichandra," playing the role of "Kusum Desai." The show featured veteran actors like Jennifer Winget and Gautam Rode, and Shiny initially felt like an "outsider" amidst them.

During a conversation on Siddharth Kannan's podcast, Shiny shared, "On my first day, I cried. I felt like I didn't belong here. I didn't understand anything – camera angles, dialogue delivery, or shooting techniques. Every day after shooting, I would go to my room and cry. There was no support, no guidance, no one to explain things."

The First Meeting with Sanjay Leela Bhansali Changed Her Trajectory

According to Shiny, her role in "Saraswatichandra" came about by chance. She was auditioning, and a channel representative contacted her mother. This led to a meeting with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, a meeting that proved to be a turning point in her career. Shiny recounts, "For me, it was like a dream come true. I was extremely nervous. But when the show aired, I felt my hard work had paid off."

The actress shared that initially, her close relatives and society viewed acting negatively. When she entered the television industry, many relatives distanced themselves from her. However, once the show aired and she portrayed her Gujarati character with complete authenticity, those same people began praising her.

“I am Gujarati, and the show was also based in Gujarat. When my acting was appreciated, those who had previously looked down on us started praising me. It was a kind of validation – for me and for my mother, who supported me every step of the way.”

"Pandya Store" – A Turning Point

Although Shiny worked in several television shows, she gained true popularity with "Pandya Store," where she played a b female character. Prior to this, she was also a part of shows like "Sarojini – Ek Nayi Pehal," "Bahu Hamari Rajni Kant," "Jamai Raja," "Khatron Ke Khiladi," "Laal Ishq," "Shreemad Bhagwat Geeta," and "Alif Laila."

Shiny's story is an inspiration for thousands of young actors who come to the dazzling world of Mumbai with dreams but give up in the face of struggles. Shiny showed that no matter how many difficulties you face, if your intentions are b, you will definitely reach your destination. "I had no other way, so I chose to move forward even while crying. Now, looking back, I am proud of myself," says Shiny Doshi.
