A devastating fire in a shanty in Delhi's Anand Vihar area last night claimed the lives of three people. The fire was so intense that the occupants were unable to escape and perished.

New Delhi: A devastating fire in a shanty in Delhi's Anand Vihar area last night resulted in the tragic deaths of three individuals. The intensity of the fire prevented those inside from escaping, leading to their deaths. Firefighters recovered three charred bodies after extinguishing the blaze. The incident has sent shockwaves through the area.

Identities of the Deceased Revealed

According to police, the deceased have been identified as Jaggi Kumar (34), Shyam Singh (36), and Jitendra Kumar (35). All three were residents of Auriya district, Uttar Pradesh, and had come to Delhi in search of work. Upon receiving information about the incident, SHO Manish of Anand Vihar Police Station and Investigating Officer SI Sokender arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation.

Three fire engines were dispatched to the scene upon receiving reports of the fire. Firefighters, after considerable effort, brought the fire under control, but by then, the shanty had been completely reduced to ashes. The cause of the incident remains unclear, but a short circuit is suspected based on preliminary investigations. Police are conducting a thorough investigation into the matter.
