Governor Intervenes in Heated Confrontation at Rajasthan University

A heated confrontation erupted at Maharaja Surajmal Brij University in Bharatpur, Rajasthan, during a visit by the Governor, Haribhau Bagde. The altercation involved the Vice-Chancellor, Ramesh Chandra, and Nitesh Chaudhary, the state co-secretary of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP).

Jaipur: A sharp debate ensued between the Vice-Chancellor, Ramesh Chandra, and ABVP state co-secretary Nitesh Chaudhary, in the presence of Governor Haribhau Bagde at Maharaja Surajmal Brij University. ABVP activists accused the Vice-Chancellor of corruption and financial irregularities, while the Vice-Chancellor termed their actions as "blackmailing" and threatened legal action.

Seeing the situation escalate, the Governor intervened, calming both parties and requesting the ABVP to submit supporting documents for an impartial investigation. Tension remains high on campus following the incident. The ABVP's protest against alleged corruption and irregularities at the university heightened the already tense atmosphere.

Clash During the Governor's Visit

On Tuesday (March 11), Governor Haribhau Bagde visited the university. During his visit, ABVP activists submitted a memorandum accusing the Vice-Chancellor of corruption and financial irregularities. ABVP leader Nitesh Chaudhary stated that the university was neglecting student interests and that the Vice-Chancellor was primarily focused on personal financial gain.

Governor Assures Investigation

Vice-Chancellor Ramesh Chandra responded sharply to these accusations, calling the ABVP leader a "blackmailer" and threatening legal action. He also accused the ABVP of unwarranted interference in the university's administration. Given the seriousness of the situation, Governor Haribhau Bagde intervened personally, calming both sides and asking the ABVP activists to submit all documents and evidence to Raj Bhavan for an impartial investigation.

The university campus remains tense following this incident. While the ABVP is demanding the Vice-Chancellor's resignation, the Vice-Chancellor has threatened legal action. The resolution of this dispute now awaits the outcome of the Governor's directed investigation.
