UP Board Takes Strict Action Against Cheating in Class 10 & 12 Exams

The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) has taken strict action against cheating incidents during the Class 10 and 12 board examinations held on February 24, 2025.

Education: The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) took strict action against cheating during the Class 10 and 12 board exams held on February 24, 2025. Despite strict surveillance at examination centers, nine students were caught cheating, and fourteen impersonators were identified and removed from the examination halls.

Several cheating incidents occurred on the first day

The board exams were conducted in two shifts on the first day. The first shift included Hindi for Class 10 and Military Science for Class 12, while the second shift comprised Health Services for Class 10 and Hindi for Class 12. In the first shift, six students were caught cheating in Farrukhabad district, and one in Pratapgarh. In the second shift, one student each was caught cheating in Bijnor and Mirzapur.

14 Impersonators Arrested

The UP board intensified scrutiny at examination centers to crack down on cheating mafias. This led to the identification and arrest of fourteen impersonators. Of these, six were from Farrukhabad, four from Ghazipur, and one each from Kannauj, Jaunpur, Firozabad, and Pratapgarh.

UPMSP has warned that action will be taken against the students and impersonators involved in cheating, as per the Uttar Pradesh General Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024. Answer sheets of students caught will be cancelled, and their results will be declared according to the prescribed rules. Board Secretary Bhagwati Singh has instructed all examination centers to enhance the effectiveness of CCTV cameras, flying squads, and strict investigation procedures to prevent cheating.
