Due to his foolishness, Sheikh Chilli had lost several jobs. After some time, he found work at a shop near his home. The shopkeeper would regularly ask Sheikh to deliver goods to different locations. One day, the shopkeeper gave Sheikh a sack of salt and asked him to take it to another village. Sheikh happily loaded the sack onto his head and began his journey. There was a river on the way. While crossing it, the sack of salt suddenly fell into the river. Sheikh somehow retrieved the sack from the river and placed it back on his head.

Because the sack had been submerged in water, a considerable amount of salt had dissolved, making the sack feel lighter. The reduced weight allowed Sheikh to reach his destination faster. After leaving the sack at the designated location, Sheikh started walking back to the shop. Meanwhile, word reached the shopkeeper that the sack was unusually light. As soon as Sheikh returned to the shop, his employer questioned him about the sack's weight. Sheikh explained the entire incident. The shopkeeper, understanding it as an unintentional mistake, forgave Sheikh and assigned him other tasks.

A few days later, the shopkeeper sent Sheikh a sack of cotton to the same destination where he had previously taken the salt. Sheikh immediately picked up the cotton sack and began walking. Although the cotton sack was light, the thought of the salt sack becoming lighter lingered in his mind. Thinking about this, Sheikh reached the river where the salt sack had fallen. He thought, "If the salt sack became lighter by falling into the river, why not do the same with this cotton sack?" With this idea in his mind, Sheikh threw the cotton sack into the river and then tried to retrieve it after some time.

By then, the cotton had soaked up a lot of water, and the now-heavy sack became considerably heavier. Sheikh somehow managed to carry the heavy sack to the designated location. This time, the recipient again relayed the news to the shopkeeper that the sack was heavy. As soon as Sheikh arrived at the shop, the shopkeeper asked him why the sack was heavy today. Sheikh replied, "Sir, the sack fell into the river again today." The shopkeeper understood that Sheikh Chilli had intentionally dropped the cotton sack in the river, hoping to make it lighter, like the salt sack. Angered by this, the shopkeeper fired Sheikh Chilli, and he lost his job once more.

The moral of this story is – those who try to be dishonest in their work often make their tasks even more difficult. Also, every situation isn't governed by the same rules; one time, the sack became lighter by falling in the river, and another time, it became heavier.
