The Aam Aadmi Party has released its second list of six candidates for the Assam Assembly Elections 2026, including the Dispur constituency. With a total of 20 candidates घोषित so far, the party has confirmed it will contest independently and continue announcing names in phases.

The Aam Aadmi Party has released its second list of candidates for the Assam Assembly Elections 2026, announcing six names. The list includes the high-profile Dispur constituency in Guwahati, indicating an expansion of the party’s electoral activity in the state.

In the second list, Ranu Mai Terang has been fielded from Barhampur, Biresh Difosa from Diphu, Pranab Priyangshu Dutta from Jorhat, Syedul Haque from North Karimganj, Elvin Baruah from Palashbari, and Ballav Patra from Dispur. The inclusion of the Dispur seat, considered politically significant as it is associated with the state’s administrative centre, has drawn particular attention.

With this announcement, the total number of candidates declared by the party has reached 20, following the earlier release of 14 candidates in its first list. Assam has 126 विधानसभा seats, and the party is proceeding with a phased declaration of candidates. It has indicated that additional names may be announced in the coming days.

The Aam Aadmi Party has stated that it will contest the Assam Assembly Elections 2026 independently, without entering into any alliance. The party has said its campaign will focus on governance, development, and clean politics, and it is fielding new faces as part of its electoral approach.

The release of the second list introduces additional competition in the electoral landscape, where the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Indian National Congress have traditionally been the principal contenders. The entry of additional candidates, including in constituencies such as Dispur, points to the possibility of a three-cornered contest in parts of the state.
