Air India Flights: Tuesday proved challenging for Air India and its passengers. Due to technical malfunctions and operational issues, Air India had to cancel several international flights. These included routes such as Delhi to Paris, Ahmedabad to London, and San Francisco to Mumbai. The cancellations impacted the travel plans of hundreds of passengers, causing significant inconvenience.

Delhi-Paris flight AI 143 cancelled

Air India flight AI 143 from Delhi to Paris was cancelled on Tuesday due to a problem discovered during pre-flight mandatory technical checks. This inspection is conducted as per safety standards, and any discrepancy necessitates flight cancellation. Air India subsequently cancelled the return flight, AI 142, from Paris to Delhi.

Air India's statement and alternative arrangements

Air India issued a statement expressing regret for the inconvenience caused to passengers. The airline stated that passengers were being provided with hotel accommodation and arrangements were being made for full refunds or rescheduling in case of flight cancellations. Passengers were given the option to choose their preferred alternative, facilitating their onward travel planning.

Ahmedabad-London flight AI 159 also cancelled

Air India's flight AI 159 from Ahmedabad to London was also cancelled on Tuesday. The aircraft scheduled for this flight was a Boeing 787-8. The flight was scheduled to depart Ahmedabad at 1:10 PM, but was cancelled at the last minute due to aircraft unavailability.

According to Air India, increasing airspace restrictions and security checks affected several flight schedules. This resulted in the necessary aircraft for the Ahmedabad-Delhi leg not being available on time.

San Francisco-Mumbai flight diverted to Kolkata

Another Air India international flight was affected due to a technical malfunction. The San Francisco to Mumbai flight had to be diverted to Kolkata due to an engine problem. The aircraft, a Boeing 777-200LR, landed at Kolkata airport at approximately 12:45 AM on Monday-Tuesday night.

Air India officials informed that a malfunction in the aircraft's left engine led to the halting of the flight. Passengers were accommodated in Kolkata temporarily, and the process of making alternative arrangements for their onward journey was initiated.
