UPTAC Counselling 2025: The Round 2 seat allotment result under Uttar Pradesh Technical Admission Counselling (UPTAC) 2025 has been released on August 5th. This seat allotment is based on the candidates' JEE Main 2025 rank and choice filling.

Candidates who have been allotted a seat must accept the seat and select the Freeze or Float option by August 7, 2025, and deposit the prescribed fee online. Candidates who fail to deposit the fee on time will have their allotted seat cancelled and will be excluded from further counselling process.

How to Check Your Allotted Seat

Candidates can check their seat allotment status by following the easy steps given below:

  1. Visit the official website uptac.admissions.nic.in
  2. Click on the "Round 2 Seat Allotment" link
  3. Login with your JEE Main application number and password/date of birth
  4. You can view the allotted college and course information on the screen
  5. Download the allotment letter and keep it safe for future reference

How much fee is to be paid to confirm the seat?

Candidates have to deposit the Seat Acceptance Fee according to their category:

  • For General and OBC category candidates: ₹20,000
  • For SC/ST category candidates: ₹12,000

The fee can be paid only through online mode (Debit/Credit card or Net Banking).

What is the difference between Freeze or Float?

After seat allotment, candidates have to choose one of the two options:

  • Freeze: If the candidate likes the seat allotted to them and wants to take admission in the same college/course, they can choose the Freeze option. After this, they will not participate in further counselling. However, category-based seat upgrades may apply.
  • Float: If the candidate wants to keep the current seat but also hopes for a better college or course in the future, they can choose the Float option. In such a case, the candidate will be eligible for upgrades in the next rounds.

What is the next step?

After getting the seat, candidates have to perform the following tasks on time:

  • Check Seat Status – Ensure which college and course you have secured a seat in
  • Choose Freeze/Float option – Select the correct option according to your preference
  • Deposit Seat Acceptance Fee – Pay the fee by August 7, 2025
  • Report to the College – If you have frozen the seat, then go to the concerned college and complete the further admission process

Note that if a candidate does not deposit the fee within the stipulated time limit or does not choose the Freeze/Float option, the seat allotted to them will be automatically cancelled and they will not be included in the further rounds. Therefore, all candidates are advised to complete all the steps in time.
