Aligarh. Wife Varsha has been sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of her husband, stemming from a dispute between the couple, who had a love marriage three years ago, and the wife's suspicion about her husband's character. The court found that she had bashed her husband Vijendra (alias Gudda)'s head with a picket. The incident occurred late at night on November 2, 2022, in the Gangiri area. Varsha and Vijendra lived in the Bannadevi Rasulpur area of the city.

That same night, screams were heard from Vijendra's house. When family members and neighbors arrived, they found Vijendra covered in blood and lying on the ground. He was immediately taken to JN Medical College, where doctors declared him dead. Police recovered the picket and other blood-stained evidence from the scene and took Varsha into custody.

Court Proceedings

The prosecution filed a chargesheet. Based on the evidence presented and witness testimonies, the court convicted Varsha and sentenced her to life imprisonment. A fine of Rs 20,000 was also imposed. Along with this sentence, the court also took into consideration factors such as the husband's suspicion towards his wife, ongoing disputes, and the husband's intoxicated state on the night of the incident, as part of the background of the event.
