Amit Shah Attacks Congress Over Batla House Encounter, Accuses Sonia Gandhi of Crying for Terrorists

During a discussion on Operation Sindoor in the Lok Sabha, Amit Shah launched a scathing attack on the Congress.

Amit Shah: The atmosphere in the Lok Sabha heated up on Tuesday during a discussion on Operation Sindoor, when Home Minister Amit Shah directly and sharply attacked the Congress, raising the old incident of the 2008 Batla House encounter in Parliament. During this time, Amit Shah made serious allegations against Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, accusing her of shedding tears for terrorists.

In his address, the Home Minister also referred to an old interview of Salman Khurshid, stating that he had saved the interview on his mobile phone and was ready to show the video to the people of the country if needed. Shah challenged the opposition to set a time if they had the courage, and the truth would be revealed to the country.

Amit Shah Roared in Parliament

Standing in the Lok Sabha, Amit Shah said, "I want to remind Salman Khurshid ji. Once I was having breakfast, I saw on TV that he was crying. I thought something big had happened. Later I found out that he was coming out of Sonia Gandhi's house and saying that Sonia Gandhi broke down after seeing the Batla House incident."

The Home Minister did not stop there. He further said, "Was it necessary to cry for terrorists? If you had to cry, you should have cried for Shaheed Inspector Mohan Chand Sharma, who lost his life in this encounter. This is the same mindset that has always weakened the country's security."

'Video is Saved with Me'

Referring to Salman Khurshid's interview, Amit Shah said that he has the video recording saved, in which Khurshid admitted that Sonia Gandhi had become emotional about the Batla House encounter. Shah said, "I have brought that interview, saved it. If they wish, set a time tomorrow. I am ready to show it to the whole country. The public has every right to know the truth."

Serious Allegations on Congress

The Home Minister questioned the opposition, saying that they were talking about questioning the country, while their own past was full of letting terrorists escape. Amit Shah said, "Dawood fled in 1986, there was Rajiv Gandhi's government. In 1993, Syed Salahuddin, Tiger Memon, Anees Ibrahim fled — all in the Congress government. Riyaz Bhatkal and Iqbal Bhatkal fled in 2007, Mirza Sadab Beg in 2009 — even then there was a Congress government." He asked what action was taken at that time? Was any operation launched to catch or eliminate any terrorist? No!

Mentioned the Strictness of the Modi Government

Describing the Modi government's security policy as strict, Amit Shah said that now the country does not sit silently. He said, "We attacked the hideouts of terrorists. We conducted surgical strikes, air strikes. We told Pakistan that an attack has been carried out. This is not the time for them to attack and we sit down to talk. This is the Modi government, which gives a befitting reply."

Emotional Statement Amidst Discussion on Operation Sindoor

During the discussion on Operation Sindoor, Amit Shah saluted the courage of the army and CRPF, saying, "Our army and security forces have killed the terrorists. But the Congress party remains immersed in the concern of terrorists." He also said that operations like Operation Sindoor are necessary to strengthen the country and there should be no politics in it.

Stir in Political Circles

After Amit Shah's statement in the House, there has been a stir in the opposition parties. Although there has been no formal reaction from the Congress so far, according to sources, the party is engaged in formulating internal strategies. It is likely that Congress leaders may complain to the Speaker about this statement and term it as an 'attempt at political defamation'.
