India's rising squash star, Anahat Singh, has continued her impressive run at the British Junior Under-19 Open Squash Tournament, securing a place in the women's semi-finals. In the quarter-final match played at the University of Birmingham, Anahat defeated Egypt's Barb Samih with a score of 11-4, 10-12, 11-9, 11-3 in a closely contested encounter.

The top-seeded Indian player defeated Egypt’s Barb Samih 11-4, 10-12, 11-9, 11-3 in the quarter-final held at the University of Birmingham. In the semi-finals, Anahat Singh will face Egypt’s second-ranked player, Malak El Karaksy.

The rising player from Delhi received a bye in the first round and then comfortably defeated Hong Kong’s Wing Kai Gladys Ho 11-1, 11-3, 11-3 in the second round. She then overcame Egypt’s Malak Elmaraghy 11-3, 11-3, 11-6 in the round of 16. This victory boosted her confidence and prepared her for a challenging quarter-final match against top-seeded Barb Samih.

In the quarter-final match, Anahat’s strategy of fast serves and consistent pressure kept the Egyptian player under constant difficulty. Barb Samih fought back to win the second game, but Anahat maintained her composure and secured the match with a clear lead in the next two games.

India’s second seed, Aryaveer Dewan, defeated Egypt’s Yassin Kouritam 9-11, 11-3, 10-12, 11-9, 12-10 in a five-game quarter-final to secure a place in the Under-17 semi-finals. Aryaveer demonstrated excellent patience and the ability to constantly change strategy during the match, proving that Indian youth players are increasingly dominating the international stage.
