Apna Dal is upset with the BJP for reappointing expelled leaders to board positions. The party has written a letter to CM Yogi, demanding their immediate removal from their posts and urging him to uphold the dignity of the coalition.
UP Politics: There is growing unrest among the NDA allies in Uttar Pradesh politics. Apna Dal (Sonelal), the party of Union Minister Anupriya Patel, has bly objected to a recent decision by the Bharatiya Janata Party. The party alleges that the BJP has re-nominated to government positions leaders who had been previously expelled by Apna Dal (S) for anti-party activities.
Letter to CM Yogi
RP Gautam, the state president of Apna Dal (S), wrote a letter to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, bly objecting to this decision. He demanded that both members be immediately removed from their positions. In the letter, Gautam wrote that Apna Dal (S) is an important component of the NDA alliance and is actively participating in development works in the state along with the BJP.
Who are the leaders being objected to?
According to the letter, Monika Arya was previously appointed as an Additional Government Advocate from the quota of Apna Dal (S), while Arvind Bauddha was made a member of the Purvanchal Development Board. However, these two leaders were expelled by the party three years ago for indiscipline and anti-organizational activities. Despite this, the BJP government has re-nominated them to the same positions for new terms.
Apna Dal was not informed
Apna Dal (S) says that no consultation was held with the party before these nomination processes, nor were they taken into confidence. The party president clarified in the letter that this is against the coalition dharma and political ethics.
Appeal to protect the dignity of the coalition
RP Gautam requested the Chief Minister to remove both these leaders from their current positions so that the dignity of the NDA alliance can be maintained and a sense of transparency and trust can be maintained among the workers of Apna Dal (S). He also said that this affects the morale of the workers and raises questions about the coordination between the coalition partners.
Proposed new names
Apna Dal (S) has sent two new names to the government in place of these two leaders. The party has requested that these names be considered and nominated according to the quota. However, the new proposed names have not been disclosed publicly at the moment.
