Accused of Attacking Chief Minister Arrested

Delhi Police have identified the accused as Rajesh Bhaiji, a resident of Rajkot, Gujarat. Police sources said that the investigation into the accused's intentions and background is ongoing. The Chief Minister's office issued a statement saying, "During a public hearing, a person attacked the Chief Minister. The police have taken the accused into custody and are questioning him. The Chief Minister is safe and will continue her schedule."

Statement by Former UP MP Malook Nagar

Malook Nagar, former MP from Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh, and leader of the Rashtriya Lok Dal, expressed deep concern over the incident. He said, "This is a serious matter. If any group or party is involved in this, it should be thoroughly investigated. This clearly shows that the Chief Minister is always ready for public service and the welfare of Delhi. Whether there is a personal or political conspiracy in such incidents, it should be seriously investigated and strict action should be taken against the culprits."

BJP Expresses Concern Over the Incident

Senior BJP Delhi unit leader Virendra Sachdeva said that the Chief Minister is shaken by the incident, but she is completely safe. He clarified that the accused did not slap the Chief Minister, nor was any stone thrown.

Sachdeva said, "The Chief Minister was interacting with the public as usual during the public hearing. Suddenly this incident happened. The accused was caught on the spot by the people and the police. The police are investigating his identity and other information. The Chief Minister will continue her scheduled programs." The BJP denied this incident as political violence and said that such incidents are unacceptable.

Reaction of Opposition and Other Leaders

Former Chief Minister and Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly, Atishi, also condemned the attack. She said, "Such violence is a threat to democracy. The Chief Minister is safe and the police should take strict action against the culprits."

Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa said, "Chief Minister Rekha Gupta is committed to the welfare of the people of Delhi. The opposition will not benefit from this incident. I bly condemn this attack."

Orders to Increase Security

Security has been increased after the attack on the Chief Minister. Delhi Police Commissioner SBK Singh visited the scene and reviewed the security measures. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has also been informed about the incident. The police have appealed to the public to avoid rumors and cooperate in the investigation.
