Boland Creates Historic Record
On the third day of the third Test, Scott Boland completed a hat-trick, conceding only 2 runs in just 2 overs. He sent Justin Greaves (11 runs) to the pavilion on the first ball of the 14th over of the West Indies' second innings, then dismissed Shamar Joseph for a golden duck on the next ball. He completed the hat-trick by dismissing Jomel Warrican on the third ball.
With this outstanding achievement, Boland became the 10th Australian bowler to take a hat-trick in Test cricket. In addition, he became the 6th bowler to take a hat-trick in the history of the World Test Championship (WTC). Before him, Jasprit Bumrah, Naseem Shah, Keshav Maharaj, Gus Atkinson, and Noman Ali had achieved this feat.

Previously, the record for taking 5 wickets in the fewest balls (19) in Test cricket was held by Ernie Toshack, Scott Boland, and Stuart Broad. But Mitchell Starc achieved this in 15 balls and set a new record.
The West Indies team was dismissed for 27 runs in the second innings, which is the second-lowest score in Test history. Earlier, in 1955, New Zealand was all out for just 26 runs against England. With the third Test, Australia completed a 3-0 series clean sweep over the West Indies.
