A woman in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, allegedly killed her husband before dying by suicide along with her 22-day-old infant after jumping in front of a train, according to police.
The couple had been married for about one year. Initial reports indicate that their relationship was normal in the early days, but disputes gradually increased over time. Local residents stated that frequent quarrels occurred within the household.
On the day of the incident, the woman allegedly attacked her husband, resulting in his death. After the killing, she left the house with the newborn child and went to a रेलवे track, where she jumped in front of a train. Both the woman and the infant died on the spot.
Local residents who spotted the bodies on the railway track informed the police. Officers reached the scene and took custody of the bodies, sending them for post-mortem examination. The husband’s body was also recovered from the couple’s residence.
Police officials said that, at first glance, the case appears to be related to a family dispute. However, an investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the incident. Authorities are questioning neighbours and relatives to establish the sequence of events and underlying reasons.
The incident has affected the local area, with the deaths of three individuals reported in a single sequence of events.
