According to reports, the incident occurred when the tempo was carrying approximately 18 to 20 people. Heavy rainfall and poor road conditions are believed to have contributed to the driver losing control, leading to the vehicle falling into a deep ravine and subsequently submerging in the raging Alaknanda River. Chief Minister Dhami Expresses Grief
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed deep condolences over the Rudraprayag tragedy. In a tweet, he stated that SDRF and other rescue teams are working at “war footing” to carry out relief and rescue operations. He stated that the tempo was carrying approximately 20 people, including the driver. Rescue efforts have resulted in three fatalities and the successful evacuation of eight individuals. The search for the remaining passengers continues.
