CM Yogi Ignites Debate on 'Political Islam's' Impact on Sanatan Dharma; Slams Opposition

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath sparked a nationwide debate while addressing the 'Vichar-Parivar Kutumb Sneha Milan' and 'Deepotsav se Rashtrotsav' (Festival of Lights to Festival of the Nation) program, organized on the occasion of the centenary year of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ignited a major debate on Tuesday, stating that while British and French colonialism are discussed in the country, there is no discussion about "political Islam," which has most severely impacted the Sanatan faith. He also added that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Guru Gobind Singh, Maharana Pratap, and Maharana Sanga fought specifically against political Islam. Yogi Adityanath asserted that our ancestors fought a great battle against political Islam, yet it is never discussed to this day.

CM Yogi's Claim on Political Islam

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that while British and French colonialisms are discussed in India, there is no public debate on the subject of "political Islam." He said that political Islam has most severely impacted Sanatan Dharma and faith. Yogi mentioned that valiant leaders like Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Guru Gobind Singh, Maharana Pratap, and Maharana Sanga fought against this very political Islam.

Yogi Adityanath said, "Our ancestors also took a stand against political Islam, but this discussion is often overlooked. Even today, some activities are promoting this tradition." He also mentioned the ban imposed on halal certification in the state, stating that it curbs financial means that promote religious conversion, 'Love Jihad,' and terrorism.

Historical Significance of Ram Mandir and Ayodhya Deepotsav

The Chief Minister lauded the contribution of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in the construction of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya. He explained that RSS volunteers demonstrated their commitment to temple construction despite facing difficulties. Yogi said, "People from SP, Congress, and the INDI alliance used to question the temple's construction, but RSS volunteers, with firm resolve, asserted that the temple would definitely be built. The result is now before everyone in the form of a magnificent Shri Ram Temple."

Yogi also praised the Deepotsav in Ayodhya. He explained that this site was deserted eight years ago, but now its grand Deepotsav has become a new identity. This year, a world record was also set by lighting 2.617 million lamps.

Sharp Criticism of SP-Congress

The Chief Minister criticized Samajwadi Party (SP) President and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, stating that his statement on Diwali clearly indicates his hatred for Ayodhya's Shri Ram Temple, deities, and festivals of Sanatan Dharma. Yogi said that the SP chief's statement is an insult to the Prajapati community (potters).

He also questioned Congress, stating that the party had previously tried to label Lord Ram and Krishna as myths by submitting an affidavit in court. The Chief Minister alleged that SP and Congress have always attempted to find flaws in the aura and grandeur of Ayodhya, Mathura, and Vrindavan.

Yogi said, "Our government will maintain the aura of Ayodhya, Mathura, and Vrindavan. People from SP and Congress are 'Ram-drohi' (traitors to Ram), 'Krishna-drohi' (traitors to Krishna), and 'Sanatan Parv-drohi' (traitors to Sanatan festivals)."

Panch Parivartan (Five Transformations) and the Foundation of Developed India

The Chief Minister also mentioned the 'Panch Parivartan' (Five Transformations) outlined on the occasion of the RSS centenary year. These are:

  • Social harmony
  • Family enlightenment
  • Environmental protection
  • Self-reliance through Swadeshi (indigenous)
  • Civic duties

Yogi stated that these five transformations are the foundation of a developed society and a developed nation. It is essential for society to move forward and for the government to support it from behind.
