Land Acquisition Rules Amended in Shekhopura, Bihar
Bihar News: The Revenue and Land Reforms Department of Bihar has issued a new order regarding compensation payments in land acquisition cases in Shekhopura district. This order outlines different procedures for dependents to receive compensation after the death of a landowner, depending on the amount.
Compensation Below ₹50 Lakh
If the compensation amount is less than ₹50 lakh, dependents can receive the amount from the Circle Officer based on a certificate. This requires a succession certificate and an indemnity bond. The Circle Officer will only approve payment after a thorough investigation and complete satisfaction of the claim.
Compensation Above ₹50 Lakh Requires Court Order
According to the new order, if the compensation amount exceeds ₹50 lakh, dependents must obtain a court order. Previously, payment was made based on the Circle Officer's certificate even in such cases, but this system has now been discontinued.
Indemnity Bond Mandatory
The dependent receiving compensation must submit an indemnity bond clearly stating that if any other person proves a valid claim to the compensation in the future, they will return the full or partial amount. This process aims to prevent future disputes.
Implementation Begins in Shekhopura District
The Director of Land Acquisition, Revenue Department, Kamlesh Kumar Singh, has issued these instructions to the Land Acquisition Officer of Shekhopura district. This decision was made based on a specific case lacking clear guidelines for compensation payment. The new order strengthens the payment process legally.
