Bihar Assembly Elections 2025: Election Commission Leverages Technology with New Apps & Portals

In the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025, the Election Commission has made extensive use of technology. Four apps and portals have been introduced for voters and candidates, offering features such as checking voter lists, downloading voter IDs, obtaining candidate information, and reporting electoral irregularities. This initiative aims to make the election process transparent and easy.

Bihar Assembly Election Apps: For the convenience of voters and candidates in the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025, the Election Commission has introduced four key apps and portals. These apps are VHA, cVigil, KYC, and Suvidha 2.0, which provide services such as checking voter lists, downloading voter IDs, knowing candidates' assets and criminal records, and reporting electoral irregularities. The objective of this technological initiative is to make the voting process transparent, secure, and simple, enabling all stakeholders to participate in the elections with ease.

Full Use of Technology in Elections

The Election Commission has announced the extensive use of technology for the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025. Voting for the first phase will take place on November 6, and for the second phase on November 11, with results to be declared on November 14. The Election Commission has introduced four apps and portals for both voters and candidates, which will provide facilities such as voter ID, voter lists, candidate information, and complaint registration.

VHA and cVigil Apps for Voters

The VHA app is specifically designed for voters. Through this app, voters can check their names in the voter list, find polling booth information, and contact their BLO (Booth Level Officer). Facilities for submitting forms for corrections in the voter list or card, and downloading e-EPIC (electoral photo identity card) are also available.
The cVigil app is designed for reporting any irregularities or malpractices during polling. Complaints lodged on this app are acted upon within 100 minutes, ensuring greater transparency in the election process.

KYC and Suvidha Portals for Candidates

The KYC (Know Your Candidate) app provides voters with information about their local candidates, such as their assets, education, and criminal records. This allows voters to easily obtain complete information about their candidates.
The Suvidha portal and Suvidha 2.0 app offer facilities for candidates to file nominations, obtain election campaign permissions, and submit affidavits online. This assists candidates in the election process and simplifies administrative tasks.

Technological Enhancements and Extensive Preparation

This time, the Election Commission has carried out extensive reforms in the voter list. Voters can easily check their names and election-related information through the apps and portals. These technological features are providing greater transparency and convenience to both voters and candidates.
