Preparations for the Bihar Legislative Assembly elections in 2025 are in full swing. This year's elections are expected to witness a fierce contest between the Grand Alliance (Mahagathbandhan) and the NDA.

Patna: Preparations for the assembly elections in Bihar have begun with great enthusiasm. All political parties are working on their respective strategies and have entered the election campaign arena. It is estimated that these elections in Bihar will be held in the months of October-November. The main contest in this election is between the NDA alliance, comprising the BJP, JDU, LJP (Ram Vilas), Jitan Ram Manjhi, and Upendra Kushwaha's party, and the Grand Alliance (Mahagathbandhan) of RJD, Congress, and a few other parties. Additionally, Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraj Party and Owaisi's AIMIM are also active in the electoral field.

Vaishali Assembly Seat

The Vaishali Assembly seat is a prominent constituency among Bihar's 243 seats. It is one of the six assembly segments of the Vaishali parliamentary seat. The Vaishali seat is unreserved, meaning it is not reserved for any particular caste or community. The main contest on this seat is expected to be between the NDA alliance of BJP, JDU, and LJP (Ram Vilas Paswan) and the Grand Alliance of RJD, Congress, and other allied parties. Previously, this seat was considered a bhold of the Congress. However, in the last two decades, the JDU has won here five times.

  • Third Place: Ajay Kumar Kushwaha (LJP) – 33,351 votes (17.18%)

Siddharth Patel won the Vaishali seat by defeating the Congress. However, the margin was only 7,413 votes, indicating a very close contest on this seat.

2. 2015 Bihar Assembly Elections

  • Winner: Raj Kishore Singh (JDU) – 79,286 votes (47.62%)
  • Runner-up: Vrishan Patel (HAM-S) – 48,225 votes (28.96%)
  • Third Place: Vinay Paswan (Independent) – 7,975 votes (4.79%)

The JDU had a larger majority in 2015, but the contest became quite challenging in 2020.
