Police have arrested an accused identified as Zeeshan in connection with the violence and stone-pelting incidents that occurred during the Bihar Bandh. According to investigating officials, he allegedly shaved his beard in an attempt to avoid arrest and conceal his identity. Police said he was identified and arrested on the basis of technical evidence, CCTV footage and other investigative findings.
According to police, protests turned violent at several locations during the Bihar Bandh. Incidents of stone-pelting, vandalism and damage to government property were reported in some areas. Special teams were constituted to investigate the cases, and authorities began analysing CCTV footage, mobile phone videos and other digital evidence collected from the affected locations.
During the investigation, police said they found leads indicating Zeeshan's alleged involvement in the incidents. Officials stated that the accused had allegedly altered his appearance by shaving his beard. However, the investigation team matched available videos, photographs and other technical evidence to establish his identity before arresting him.
Police said the arrested accused is being questioned. Investigating agencies are also examining who else may have been involved in the violence and whether the incidents were pre-planned. Efforts are continuing to identify other suspects linked to the case.
Following the violence during the Bihar Bandh, police have carried out extensive action at multiple locations. According to officials, CCTV recordings, videos circulated on social media and eyewitness statements are being used to identify those allegedly involved in the incidents.
