Politics in Bihar has once again intensified. JDU MLA Chetan Anand from Sheohar has filed a police complaint alleging serious misconduct by the staff of Patna AIIMS. The MLA claimed that his wife was manhandled and forcibly detained at the hospital for some time. This incident occurred when Chetan Anand, along with his wife and security personnel, visited a supporter admitted to the hospital.
Dispute Started After Guard Was Stopped
According to the MLA, he arrived at AIIMS on Wednesday night with his wife and security guard. The security personnel at the gate stopped his guard from entering, which led to the dispute. Chetan Anand stated that when his wife intervened, other hospital staff arrived at the scene and misbehaved with her. The MLA alleged that the hospital staff not only showed indiscipline but also crossed all limits of decency.
Wife Sustained Injuries
Chetan Anand claims that his wife sustained injuries to her wrist and back during the scuffle. He asserted that when he tried to intervene, he was also forcibly detained by the hospital staff and held against his will for some time. The MLA has termed this completely unacceptable and demanded strict action against the guilty employees.
Police Investigating
Following the incident, the MLA directly reached the local police station and filed a written complaint regarding the entire matter. Chetan Anand said that such behavior with a public representative is unfortunate and a violation of democratic norms. In this matter, Patna City (West) Superintendent of Police, Bhanu Pratap Singh, informed that complaints have been received from both the AIIMS administration and the MLA. The police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) and started the investigation.
Political Background Also Under Discussion
Notably, Chetan Anand was previously associated with the RJD but later joined the JDU. His mother, Lovely Anand, is currently a JDU Member of Parliament and represents the Sheohar Lok Sabha seat. In light of this, the entire matter is also being viewed from a political perspective, which may further escalate the political heat in the coming days.
