BJP Accuses Farooq Abdullah of ISI Links and Anti-National Politics

The political atmosphere in Jammu and Kashmir has once again heated up. The BJP has directly attacked National Conference President and former Chief Minister of the state, Dr. Farooq Abdullah, accusing him of working at the behest of Pakistan's intelligence agency, ISI. Party National General Secretary Tarun Chugh made several serious allegations, stating that Abdullah's politics have always strengthened anti-national forces and that he continues to walk the line of Pakistan.

Why the Silence on the Exodus of Kashmiri Pandits?

The BJP has alleged that Farooq Abdullah remained silent on the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits in 1990 and the atrocities committed against them. Tarun Chugh questioned where Farooq Abdullah was when thousands of Pandits had to leave their homes and the community was almost entirely displaced from the valley. He also asked if it wasn't necessary to raise a voice for democracy at that time, or if there was some kind of emergency that served as an excuse to ignore the suffering of an entire community?

BJP leaders say that Abdullah's silence was not limited to that time, but has continued even during the recent terrorist incidents targeting the Hindu community in the valley. The party has termed this a 'selective sensitivity' and a political gimmick.

Restlessness Regarding the Restoration of Article 370

BJP General Secretary Tarun Chugh claimed that Jammu and Kashmir has experienced true democracy for the first time after the abrogation of Article 370. He says that the era of Article 370 was a 'pleasant and convenient' time for the Abdullah family, during which they had a monopoly over power and the system. But now that Jammu and Kashmir is moving towards peace and development due to the efforts of the central government, Abdullah and his party are restless.

Chugh alleged that there was no such thing as democracy under the Abdullah family's rule. He said that now, after the removal of Article 370, development schemes are reaching every village and the common people are being empowered.

Why the Double Standards on Terrorism?

Tarun Chugh accused Abdullah of having double standards regarding terrorism, saying that he never expressed sympathy for Hindu pilgrims or tourists killed by Pakistan-backed terrorists. He said that Farooq Abdullah's attitude clearly shows what his priorities are and which agenda he is promoting.

The BJP says that such politics are a conspiracy to mislead the people of Jammu and Kashmir, which people are now beginning to understand. Chugh reiterated that the central government is committed to firmly establishing peace, development, and democracy in the state, and this campaign will not be weakened by such statements.
