Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat participated in the 'Somnath Jyotirling Maha Rudra Puja' program organized by the Art of Living in Nagpur, Maharashtra on Wednesday.
Nagpur: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat, participating in the 'Somnath Jyotirling Maha Rudra Puja' program in Nagpur, Maharashtra on Wednesday, stated that India will not become like the current superpowers. He clarified that India's true nature lies in the spirit of service, cooperation, and global welfare.
Bhagwat said that despite advancements in science, technology, and wealth worldwide, dissatisfaction and conflict are on the rise, and in such a situation, India must show the world a new path.
India's Character Lies in Service
In his address, Mohan Bhagwat stated that India's character is not in displaying power or dominance, but in service and compassion. He said, "India's character is rooted in the spirit of service. This spirit will define us, not by becoming like today's superpowers and influencing the world, but by serving neutrally." He explained that India's objective is not to rule over anyone, but to provide guidance for the welfare of humanity.
Bhagwat also said that even when humans lack nothing in terms of science, technology, and resources, the world is still entangled in conflicts and dissatisfaction. The solution to this lies not in power, but in compassion, balance, and cooperation.
India Will Show the World a New Path
The RSS chief said, "We are not doing any favor to the world; we are a part of this very world. We must work for the welfare of the entire world. The world will call India a 'guru,' but we will call them 'friends.' Our objective is not power, but service." He clarified that India will not be part of the race to become a superpower. Instead, it will offer a balanced, organized, and neutral perspective to the world. Bhagwat stated that today's global politics is focused on power projection, economic dominance, and military might, but India's path will be different.
Bhagwat said that modern science and technology have provided humans with numerous comforts and conveniences, but despite this, the world is struggling with dissatisfaction, violence, and wars. People have everything, yet they are not satisfied. The reason for this is that external achievements cannot bring inner peace. The world is faltering, and there is no one to guide it. India must fulfill this responsibility.
He explained that India's role will be that of a guide, where stability and prosperity can be brought to the world not through the display of power, but through service and cooperation.
Message of Neutrality and Cooperation
Mohan Bhagwat also described service and neutrality as the basis of India's foreign policy. "We will not compete with anyone, nor will we engage in a race for power. We will move forward together with the world and view all countries with an equal perspective. India's policy will be based on 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' (the world is one family)." He said that this policy is not only a path to serve humanity but also a means to establish peace, stability, and harmony in the world.
In his speech, Bhagwat also stated that India's culture is not limited to religious rituals alone; its true purpose is the service of humanity. Spirituality does not merely mean worship. It is a process of understanding and alleviating human suffering. India's soul resides in service, and this is what makes it unique in the world.
