Maharashtra government honored Smriti Mandhana, Radha Yadav, and Jemimah Rodrigues, the vice-captain of the World Cup-winning team. All three players made significant contributions to India's victory in the World Cup.
Mumbai: The Maharashtra government specially honored the winners of the Indian Women's Cricket Team's 2025 World Cup. In a ceremony held in Mumbai, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis presented cheques of INR 2.5 crore each to the team's vice-captain Smriti Mandhana, star all-rounder Radha Yadav, and explosive batter Jemimah Rodrigues. This honor was bestowed in recognition of their unique contributions to the World Cup.
Smriti, Radha Yadav, and Jemimah: All Three Players Delivered Outstanding Performances
Jemimah Rodrigues played a historic innings in the semi-final against Australia. Chasing a target of 339 runs, India won the match by 5 wickets. Jemimah scored an unbeaten 127 runs during this match, which is considered a memorable innings in World Cup history. She scored 292 runs in 7 innings throughout the tournament. Smriti Mandhana, who is also the team's vice-captain, played a crucial innings of 45 runs in the World Cup final.
In the tournament, she played a total of 2 half-centuries and 1 century. She scored 109 runs against New Zealand, while making 88 and 80 runs against England and Australia respectively. Mandhana accumulated 434 runs in a total of 9 matches, helping her team secure victory in the final.

Radha Yadav is known for her fast and smart fielding. Although she only played in the last match of the league stage, in that game she took 3 crucial wickets for 30 runs against Bangladesh. While her performance in the semi-final and final might not have been significant, her contribution to the team is considered invaluable.
Chief Minister Honors Players
During the event, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis congratulated the players for their contributions and presented award cheques of INR 2.5 crore each to the three players. He stated, "These players are not only bringing glory to the nation with their sport but are also a source of inspiration for young girls. Maharashtra feels proud that such players are emerging from our land."
The Maharashtra government also honored the head coach of the World Cup-winning team, Amol Muzumdar, presenting him with a cheque of INR 25 lakh. Amol is also from Mumbai and played a significant role in making the team victorious.
