BJP Rebuts Congress's Vote Rigging Claims with Counter-Allegations Against Rahul Gandhi and Pawan Khera

India's political landscape has once again become a battleground of accusations and counter-accusations. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched a b rebuttal to the issue of ‘vote rigging’ raised by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

BJP vs Congress: BJP's IT Cell chief Amit Malviya has sharply retorted to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's allegations of "vote rigging." Malviya stated that Rahul Gandhi is vociferously talking about vote rigging but is forgetting that his mother, Sonia Gandhi, had her name registered in the voter list even before acquiring Indian citizenship.

Malviya further alleged that two different identity card numbers are active under the name of Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera. He informed that Khera has one voter ID number in the Jangpura assembly constituency, while another is registered in the New Delhi assembly constituency. These respectively fall under the East Delhi and New Delhi Lok Sabha constituencies.

BJP's Response to Rahul Gandhi's Allegations

Recently, Rahul Gandhi had alleged discrepancies in the voter list in Karnataka and other states, terming it as ‘vote rigging’. However, the BJP asserts that Rahul Gandhi has forgotten that his mother, Sonia Gandhi, had her name registered in the voter list prior to obtaining Indian citizenship.

Amit Malviya said that the Congress repeatedly questions the electoral process but ignores the serious questions that arise against its own leaders.

Serious Allegations Against Pawan Khera

Amit Malviya made public two active EPIC numbers of Pawan Khera, claiming it to be a clear violation of electoral law.

First EPIC Number

  • Name: Pawan Khera
  • Father's Name: H.L. Khera
  • EPIC Number: XHC1992338
  • Assembly: 41 Jangpura
  • Part Number: 28
  • Part Name: Nizamuddin East
  • Serial Number: 929

Second EPIC Number

  • Name: Pawan Khera
  • Father's Name: H.L. Khera
  • EPIC Number: SJE0755967
  • Assembly: 40 New Delhi
  • Part Number: 78
  • Part Name: Kaka Nagar
  • Serial Number: 820

According to Malviya, the first EPIC number falls under the East Delhi Lok Sabha constituency, while the second is linked to the New Delhi Lok Sabha constituency. This implies that Pawan Khera is registered in two different constituencies, which is unacceptable according to the Election Commission's rules.

Demand for Action from the Election Commission

The BJP leader has demanded an investigation into the entire matter by the Election Commission. He questioned that if Pawan Khera has indeed voted on separate occasions using both identity cards, it is not only a violation of electoral law but also a betrayal of the democratic process. Malviya added that this matter becomes even more serious because Pawan Khera himself is criticizing the electoral process through press conferences and misleading the public.

Amit Malviya also targeted Rahul Gandhi, stating that he had raised the issue of ‘fake voters’ in the Mahadevpur assembly constituency of Karnataka, but has not yet submitted any affidavit or formal complaint in support of it. He also reminded that the Supreme Court had already dismissed alleged discrepancies related to the voter list in Maharashtra.
