BPSC 71st CCE: The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has revised the preliminary examination date for the 71st Combined Competitive Examination (CCE). The exam was initially scheduled for September 10, 2025, but has now been postponed to September 13, 2025. The commission has made this change due to unavoidable circumstances.
Confirmation of Changes in the Official Notification
The notification issued by BPSC clarifies that the preliminary exam, proposed for September 10, will now be held on September 13. This decision was made due to logistical reasons related to the examination. Candidates who have applied for this exam are advised to carefully read the revised notification available on the official website, bpsc.bihar.gov.in.
Changes in the Assistant Branch Officer Exam as Well
BPSC has not only changed the date of the 71st preliminary exam but has also altered the date of the Assistant Branch Officer exam. This exam was initially scheduled for September 13, but it has now been preponed to September 10. This clearly indicates an exchange of dates between the two exams.
Increase of 34 Posts, Total of 1,298 Posts to be Filled
BPSC, in another important announcement, has also stated that a total of 1,298 posts will now be filled under the 71st CCE examination. This is an increase from the previous number of 1,264, with 34 new posts added. This provides additional opportunities for candidates who are interested in entering government service.
Information Related to the Preliminary Exam Pattern and Preparation
The preliminary exam for BPSC 71st CCE will be objective-type. It will consist of a total of 150 questions from the General Studies subject. The duration of the exam will be two hours. Each question will be multiple-choice (MCQ) and will carry one mark.
Provision for Negative Marking
The exam also has a provision for negative marking. 1/3 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer. That is, if you answer three questions incorrectly, one mark will be deducted. Therefore, candidates should be careful in choosing their answers.
Stages of the Selection Process
Preliminary Exam (Prelims) – This will be qualifying in nature.
Main Exam (Mains) – Candidates who qualify in the preliminary exam will be called.
Interview – Successful candidates in the main exam will be invited for the final stage, i.e., the interview.
