Thieves Entered the Palace Complex

A major theft occurred late Sunday night at the Kothi Ghar of the Sarguja Palace complex, raising questions about the security arrangements of the local administration. Thieves scaled the wall of the palace and entered, fleeing with two brass elephant statues. These statues were kept for decoration in front of the main gate and were said to weigh approximately 15 kg. The entire theft has been recorded on CCTV cameras, in which the activities of the thieves can be clearly seen.

Singh Deo Was Abroad at the Time of the Theft

According to sources, former Deputy Chief Minister TS Singh Deo was on a foreign tour and not present at the residence at the time of the theft. This gave the thieves an easy opportunity to commit the crime. Local people were informed about the incident in the morning, after which a person from Brahmapara police station area filed an official complaint at the Kotwali police station. The complaint stated that the thief entered the house from the back and fled with the brass statues.

Investigation Intensified Based on Technical Evidence

Sarguja SP Amolak Singh Dhillon confirmed the incident and said that the police are examining the CCTV footage to identify the thief. Efforts are being made to reach the accused with the help of technical evidence. Other cameras installed around the palace complex are also being investigated. Initial investigations suspect that the accused had prior knowledge of the building's structure, as he carried out the theft by taking the exact route from the back.
